Calls for Service July 22, 2013

Police were dispatched to Railroad Avenue for a complaint of harassment.  All involved parties were advised of the procedures to sign complaints with the court clerk’s office.

 

Officers observed a 23 year old Woodbury resident walking in the street on High Street. Sidewalks are provided for passage. The accused was issued a summons for obstructing the roadway.

 

A Washington Avenue resident reported he lost his cell phone either in the WaWa Food Market or on his way home. WaWa personnel advised they will check the surveillance video to see if someone picked up the phone.

 

Police were dispatched to a Myrtle Avenue residence for a burglary in progress. A description of the accused was provided by the witness. Incident remains under investigation.

 

A Barber Avenue resident came into headquarters to report a domestic violence incident. All domestic violence guideline were completed. Complaints are pending.

 

While on a motor vehicle stop it was discovered the operator had active outstanding warrants for his arrest. The 45 year old Woodbury resident was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. At headquarters the accused was released on his own recognizance. The accused was issued his traffic summonses and released from custody with a new court date

 

A Naomi Avenue resident reported in December 2012 a package was delivered to her residence. The package was subsequently removed from her front porch by unknown persons. The complainant was advised a report would be on file.

 

A N. Broad Street resident reported he lost his debit card after using it at the WaWa Food Market. He was advised a report would be on file.

 

Police were dispatched to a N. Columbia Street residence for a male in the yard. The home is currently vacant. Officers attempted to apprehend the suspect with negative results.

 

Officers responded to High Street for a dog running at large. The owner was on scene and stated she did not think it was a problem for the dog to be unleashed while she was outside. She was issued a summons for allowing the dog to run at large.

 

While on a motor vehicle traffic stop it was learned the operator had an active outstanding warrant for her arrest. The accused was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. At headquarters the accused was able to post bail on the warrant. She was issued her traffic summonses and released from custody with a new court date.

 

Calls for Service July 19-21, 2013

A 27 year old Paulsboro resident was placed under arrest for driving under the influence.

 

An Allen Street resident advised unknown actor/s entered her property and removed an aluminum screen door and aluminum chair. A laptop was also missing from the property.

 

Two females were observed behind the Evergreen Square. This area is posted no trespassing. Officers located the two who were found to be in possession of CDS. The 60 and 65 year old Woodbury residents were issued the appropriate summonses.

 

A 26 year old Woodbury resident was found asleep on Woodlake Apartment complex property. The subject was blocking the entrance/exit from one of the buildings. The male was awakened and then became belligerent using abusive language. He was issued a summons for breach of peace.

 

Police and Fire Departments responded to a Cooper Street residence for a residential fire. The fire was extinguished. There were no injuries. The fire was a result of careless cooking.

 

A Naomi Avenue resident reported her motor vehicle stolen from in front of her residence. The vehicle was entered NCIC.

 

Several property owners throughout the City were advised of their violation of the property maintenance ordinance. Follow up investigations will be completed in ten days.

 

A W. Barber Avenue resident removed the water meter on his property. He was issued a summons for violation of municipal ordinance.

 

Officers observed a 50 year old Woodbury resident trespassing on property on S. Broad Street. He was issued a summons and advised to stay off the property.

 

Police were dispatched to Inspira Hospital for an aggressive patient, yelling profanities and acting in a disruptive manner in the emergency room. The 27 year old Paulsboro resident was calmed down. He was then issued a summons for disorderly conduct.

 

A Laurel Street resident reported during the severe thunderstorm, tree branches fell onto his two motor vehicles causing damage. He was advised a report would be on file.

 

While on a motor vehicle stop, it was learned the passenger, a 26 year old Deptford resident, had active outstanding warrants for his arrest. The accused was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. At headquarters the accused was released on his own recognizance by the issuing municipalities. He was then released from custody with a new court date.

 

A 38 year old Woodbury resident was observed walking in the street on N. Evergreen Avenue. Several vehicles had to swerve in order to avoid striking the subject. The subject was issued a summons for obstructing the roadway.

 

Calls for Service July 18, 2013

A Morris Street resident reported copper gutters were removed from the garage on her property. A check of the surrounding area for any suspect proved negative. The homeowner was advised a report would be on file.

 

Officers observed a vehicle pulling into the Woodlake Apartment complex, an area posted no trespassing. In speaking with the driver, a 34 year old Woodbury resident, she could not provide a valid reason for being on the property.  A trespassing complaint was issued.

 

A West Centre Street resident reported criminal mischief to her vehicle. The complainant stated she has been involved in an argument with other females through Twitter. The victim believes these females performed the mischief. The victim was advised a report would be on file and the procedures to sign complaints with the court clerk’s office.

 

Several individual were issued summonses in violation of occupant standards; living in a rental unit and not being on the lease.

 

Several registered vehicle owners were issued letters of warning regarding possible abandoned vehicles. A follow up investigation will be completed in ten days.

 

A 44 year old Woodbury resident was observed on E. Red Bank Avenue walking in the street not using the provided sidewalk. A traffic hazard was created as vehicles had to swerve to avoid striking the female. The female was stopped, advised of her violation and issued a summons for obstructing the roadway.

 

Officers observed a 29 year old Woodbury resident known to have active outstanding warrants for his arrest. He was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. At headquarters the issuing municipalities released the accused on his own recognizance with a new court date. The accused was then released from custody.

 

While on a motor vehicle stop, the driver a 35 year old Lindenwold resident, was found to have active outstanding warrants for his arrest. The accused was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. The accused was unable to post bail and was turned over to the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department in default.

 

Calls for Service July 17, 2013

Police observed a male riding his bicycle on N. Broad Street without proper lighting. The 36 year old Deptford resident was stopped and issued a summons for same.

 

Woodbury units were dispatched to Woodlake Apartment complex for a domestic violence incident. All domestic violence guidelines were completed. Complaints were filed.

 

Police responded to the area of the Pep Boys parking lot for a vehicle fire. The fire department arrived and extinguished the fire.

 

A detached garage on Salem Avenue was damaged by fire. The owner stated he did not have any idea of what caused the fire. Case will be investigated by the Woodbury Fire Marshall.

 

Police observed a male crossing N. Broad Street without using the crosswalk creating a traffic hazard. Several vehicles had to stop abruptly to avoid striking the male. The accused, a 53 year old Gibbstown resident was stopped by officers and became uncooperative. He was issued all appropriate summonses.

 

CVS employees reported a shoplifting. A female entered the store and concealed several items on her person. Security confronted the accused and she returned the items then fled the scene. A description of the accused was provided. A check of the surrounding area was negative for the accused.

 

Police were dispatched to Pizza Hut for a customer dispute. Officers were able to calm the situation and the customer left the area.

 

A complaint was received regarding abandoned vehicles at a residence on W. Barber Avenue. Officers sent a warning letter to the homeowner advising of the violation. A follow up investigation will be conducted in ten days.

 

A Spring Street resident reported her vinyl fence was damaged. A group of juveniles were in the area and the homeowner heard a loud noise. She then discovered her fence damaged. The juveniles were no longer in the area and there were no witnesses to state the juveniles did the damage.

 

A 50 year old Woodbury resident was placed under arrest on several outstanding active warrants. The accused was placed under arrest and transported to police headquarters. At headquarters the Gloucester County Sheriff’s Department responded and took custody of the accused.

 

A 51 year old Woodbury resident was observed on S. Broad Street with an open container of alcohol. The accused was issued a summons for possession of an open container of alcohol. The alcohol was destroyed and the container placed in the trash.

 

 

 

Calls for Service July 16, 2013

 

A 23 year old Woodbury resident reported he lost his wallet on N. Broad Street.  He is now receiving telephone calls regarding loan applications that were made. He was advised to contact his financial institution immediately.

 

A 26 year old Camden resident came into headquarters to report a domestic violence incident that occurred on Chestnut Street. All domestic violence guidelines were completed. Complaints were filed.

 

Several city residents were advised of the municipal ordinance regarding property maintenance. Follow up investigations will be completed in ten days.

 

While on routine patrol officers located two males sleeping behind the CVS building. The area is clearly posted “no trespassing”. Both individuals were issued summonses for trespassing and sent on their way.

 

A 66 year old Deptford resident was located on the property of the WaWa Food Market. The male has been advised numerous times not to be on the property. A summons for trespassing was issued.

 

Officers observed a 46 year old Woodbury resident walking on S. Broad Street shouting profanities into her cell phone. The female was issued a summons for disorderly person.

 

A 50 year old Woodbury resident was located on S. Broad Street staggering and appeared to be extremely intoxicated. The male was advised not to be loitering, blocking the sidewalk. The male refused to leave. He was issued a summons for breach of peace. Gloucester County EMS was called to the scene and took custody of the male.

 

A Leeds Place resident contacted police regarding inappropriate text messages her juvenile daughter is receiving from an adult male. The complainant was advised to see the court clerk’s office to file charges against the accused.
