Calls for Service

3/8/11

While on patrol an officer observed a male in the area of Rite Aid crossing the street improperly carrying a trash bin that the officer knew belonged to Rite Aid.  After questioning the subject he was charged with Trespassing, Theft, and Improperly Crossing the Street.

Officers responded to the area of Green Street for an assault.  A male and a female got into a verbal argument the escalated into a physical confrontation.  No complaints were signed at this time.

A male subject was arrested on Curtis Avenue for active warrant issued by Woodbury Municipal Court.  Officers recognized the subject because of previous encounters.

Officers responded to Myrtle Avenue for a criminal mischief complaint.  The victim was watching TV when a rock was thrown through his window.  Officers searched the area for possible subjects but were unsuccessful.

Officers responded to HQ to meet with parents who wished to report a missing child.  Officers talked with the parents and got a description of the missing child.  Officers searched areas known to be frequented by the juvenile and found him in the area of West End School.  He was turned over to his parents.

Officers responded to Family Dollar for a shoplifting complaint.  The employee reported a white male with a white hooded sweat jacket and a blue/white wool cap took some store items and walked out without paying.  We are waiting for video of the incident and the investigation is pending.

After a car stop conducted on Queen Street two subjects were arrested for active warrants issued by various municipal courts.  The vehicle was originally stopped for failing to come to a complete stop at a stop sign.

3/7/11

Officers responded to HQ to meet with a female to assist in having a restraining order served in our town.  The order was served and documentation was completed.

While on patrol an officer observed to females in front of the High School having a heated argument.  The females were not students.  The two were charged with Disorderly Persons.  One was arrested for an active warrant out of Brooklawn.

The School Resource Officer responded to Evergreen Avenue School to meet with the Principal in reference to a dispute between a parent and an employee.    The incident was documented and no further action is needed at this time.

An Officer responded to HQ to meet with a female that was the victim of a car burglary.  The victim’s vehicle was parked on North Maple.  It was left unlocked.  An unknown person entered the vehicle and stole several items. 

Officers responded to Heritage’s on Salem for a shoplifting complaint.  The manager described a black female, approximately 5”6”, wearing blue jeans, black leather coat, red hat, and glasses taking items from the store without paying and  into an older model Chrysler with a broken out window.  Investigation is continuing.

3/4/11

Officers responded to CVS on Redbank Avenue for a robbery.  A white male handed an employee a note indicating he had a weapon and wanted prescription medications.  The accused exited the store and got into a dark color minivan and went east on Redbank Avenue.  Investigation is continuing.

Officers responded to Town Liquors for a customer that walked out with a bottle of Rum without paying for it.  A description of the female was given along with vehicle information.  Investigation is continuing.

Officers responded to a report of a fight at the school involving 3 juvenile males.  Juvenile complaints are pending.

Officers responded to Metro PCS on North Broad Street in investigate threats made against the owner and the business.  Investigation is continuing

3/5/11

Officers were in the area of the CVS parking lot when they heard profanities being shouted.  Upon investigation it was found out that a male and female were engaged in a verbal altercation.  The officer arrested the male and he was charged with Breach of Peace and Disorderly conduct.

While on Patrol officers found two male subjects trespassing on Conrail Property.  Further investigation revealed they were smoking what appeared to be a marijuana cigarette.  Both males were juveniles so their parents were contacted and were turned over to them.  Juvenile complaints are pending.

Officers responded to South Broad near Carpenter for a motor vehicle crash.  Upon investigation officers determined that one of the drivers appeared to be intoxicated.  Charges are pending and the investigation is continuing.

3/6/11

Officers responded to the area of Hopkins Street for a vehicle that was take without owners consent.  Information was turned over by the victim and the investigation is continuing.

Officers responded to CVS for suspicious activity.  Management described a male that tried to return items on old receipts.  Video shows that the subject may have been trying to return items that were shoplifted and then male tried to get money for the return.  Investigation to continue.

Officers responded to TD Bank for an individual attempting to cash stolen checks.  The subject was found and arrested for forgery and various other charges.

Officers responded to the area of Watkins Avenue for a dispute between a male and female.  Both were issued summons for Disorderly Conduct.

Officers responded to the Bell Lake Apartments for a possible domestic violence situation.  It was determined that it was not a domestic and the parties were separated with no further action.

3/3/11

Officers responded to HQ to take a report of a vehicle that was taken without the owner’s consent.  Vehicle was entered in NCIC and investigation is continuing.

Officers responded to the area of Laurel Street for a disturbance.  Upon arrival and investigation a female was arrested for disorderly conduct.

Officers responded to the area of Hunter Street near the Woodlake Apartments for a suspicious vehicle.  The vehicle appeared to be following a female while walking home from school.  The vehicle was being operated by a black male wearing a black shirt.  He was operating a gold color vehicle, possibly a Lexus.  There were no words or exchanges between the driver and the female however the female was uncomfortable with his demeanor.  Officers checked the area and the investigation is continuing.

Officers responded to the area of West Centre Street for an unwanted person.  The subject was escorted from the property he was in and asked not to return or be arrested for trespassing if he did.

A juvenile and adult were arrested in the area of Woodlake Apartments for Trespassing on private property.  The adult also had an active warrant issued by Deptford Township.

3/2/11

Officers responded to one of the bus stops on North Broad Street to talk to a NJ Transit bus driver about a dispute.  Officers cleared it up without further incident.

Officers responded to Laurel Street for a criminal mischief complaint.  An unknown actor threw a brick through the bedroom window of the victim.  Investigation is continuing.

Officers responded to Woodlake Apartments for an assault complaint.  Juveniles were involved and both sides were given the opportunity to sign complaints.

Officers responded to Acme for a shoplifting incident.  Officers did not catch the suspect but the investigation is continuing based on information from management.

A male subject was arrested for breach of the peace and open container after a NJ Transit bus driver called in an unruly passenger on Broad Street.

The School Resource Officer issued assault complaints against a student for an assault which occurred on school property in the presence of school administrators.

Officers responded to the ARC on North Broad Street for a burglary which occurred overnight.  The investigation is continuing.

3/1/11

A male was arrested at the bus stop on North Broad near Redbank for urinating in public.  He was also charged with possession of open alcohol in public.

A male subject was charged with Breach of the Peace on Hopkins Street.  A resident called in the disturbance.

Officers responded to the High School to speak to a victim of an assault.  Parents were notified of the situation and given the opportunity to sign juvenile complaints.

A juvenile was taken into custody at the Heritage’s on Salem for shoplifting.  He will be charged accordingly and was turned over to his mother.

A male subject was arrested in the area of Bell Lake Apartments for trespassing.  The subject was also found to be very intoxicated and was charged with breach of peace.

An officer responded to the 100 block of Delaware Street for a criminal mischief complaint.  The victim believes someone intentionally stuck a nail in their car tire.
